The Full Marathon was won by Alasdair Tatham (Quakers) in 3.04.21 with OAC’s Martin Smillie finishing 40th/96 in 4.10.43. Full results from ukresults.net
The Half Marathon was won by Philip Critchlow (Beaumont R.C.) in 1.17.48 on arguably the hilliest and most beautiful course in the country. Mick Jeffrey was delighted with his performance 31st/378 in 1.35.08, first M55. Odette Smillie was 357th in 2.34.53. Full results from ukresults.net and photos of Martin in Club Photos.
In this week’s race won by Tim Crossland (Leeds City) in 16.17, OAC’s Lloyd Best finished 22nd in 18.58.

OAC’s Chris Carver represented England in the 24 hour race on Thursday.
18:00 Friday 18th September – Text from Andrew Robertshaw, “Chris had a good one finishing fifth, three new pbs en route, 143 miles (231km) – total three miles more than before. Hugh Pearson in addition to his comment below has emailed in to say that there are also more details of the race on the blog of William Sichel. An email from Chris’s wife Fay confirms his finishing position and distance and that he was the first Englishman home and England won the team Silver medal.

A 9.5 mile trail race won by Adrian Pickles (Settle) in approximately 61 minutes.

For OAC, Jamil Parapia finished second (33.16), Zack Whitehead fifth (34.24) and Simon Anderson 29th (37.41) thereby winning the second team prize.
Also recording good results were Daniel Lambert 44th (39.04), Mick Jeffrey 71st (40.30), Tom Hannah 173rd (45.08), Carol Armitstead 259th (48.29), Peter McGouran 263rd (48.37), Ursula McGouran 316th (50.54) and Billy Rayner 328th (51.28).

OAC’s Ian Fisher reports that he finished seventh overall (70.13) on an undulating course.
The race was won by Ezekiah Cherop (Birchfield) in 65.42 and with Darran Bilton (Leeds City) finishing fourth (69.02) and Mike Burrett twelfth (71.59), this trio won the gold team medal in the concurrent Inter-Counties Half Marathon Championships.

OAC’s Renee Saxton finished as first lady in eighth position overall (59.44) and Renee was followed by Lloyd Best 72nd (71.00), Karen Best 83rd (71.59), Michael Pickard 110th (76.02) and Sarah McBrinn 114th (76.33).
