Saturday 24th October – Club Handicap @ Weeton
Posted by admin in News & Results on October 20, 2009
Report and results from Otley A.C.’s latest Monthly Handicap Race, a five mile course around Weeton.
A disappointing turnout helped Billy extend his overall lead in the 2009 handicap table to a commanding 29 points ahead of the winner on the day Neil and Ian.
Neil may have had more of a challenge if a couple hadn’t taken a wrong turning on the second lap of the 1½ mile loop round the village.

Nepal Bike Ride
Posted by admin in News & Results on October 17, 2009
An email from OAC member, Martin Butterworth, in Nepal:
It’s a while since I’ve found anything to contribute to OAC and now its not even running!
Anyhow, thought this might be of interest to members who remember me.
A couple of weeks back I did a three day bike ride near Annapurna with a friend. He took some video footage and has posted it on YouTube as a video called `Muktinath and down´.
Here’s the direct link.
I wouldn’t come to Nepal just to do it but it is a great trip. I’m the one on the aging Trek 4400 retrofitted with discs and decent fork. At one point Dave mentions a “guide” – actually we didn’t have any support at all – the guy he’s referring to is the lodge owner at Kagbeni where we stayed one night.
And greetings to all at OAC, great to stay in touch and – I’ve said it before – I’ll be back some time.
