The race was won by Matthew Pierson (Holmfirth Harriers) in a new course record of 65.35.
For OAC (all chip times) this was the first nominated race in the Club’s Runner of the Year Competition and Julian Mawson finished tenth (74.58) and Josie Hodgetts 53rd (and second female) in a new personal best and club record of 79.40…..beating her previous club best set in last year’s equivalent race of 83.00!!!
Lloyd Best finished 96th (82.03…a pb by 50 seconds), Racheal Bamford 179th (87.01…a stunning debut at the distance) and Karen Best 218th (88.36…a pb by 60 seconds and beating Club President’s Carol Armitstead’s previous FV35 club record by two seconds).
The team of Josie, Racheal and Karen deservedly won the ladies team prize.
Continuing, Mick Jeffrey finished 317th (91.36), Neil Charlton 342nd (92.48 another quality debut at the distance), Jane Shelmerdine 412th (95.06), Colin Best 581st (99.27), Phil Robinson 588th (99.26), Howard Jeffrey 667th (101.49) and Tom Hannah 690th (103.05).
Neil O’Brien 860th (107.58), Billy Rayner 865th (107.38…another pb by 30 seconds), Emily Levy 923rd (109.26…another good debut at the distance?), Dave Hainsworth 1,257th (120.40) and Sara Richard 1,352nd (126.09…well done on your first half!). There were 1,550 finishers.
