Saturday 17th April – Park Run Leeds 5km

From parkrun.org, Valley Striders’ Roy Huggins won the race in 17:49 and the first female athlete was Shelley Li in 17:56. For OAC, Simon Anderson finished eleventh in 18:57 and Mick Jeffrey nineteenth in 19:46.

Tuesday 13th April – Bunny Run #2 @ Haworth

From woodentops.org, the race weas won by Ian Holmes (Bingley) and for OAC, Graham Stead finished 219th (23.45) and Don Buffham 244th (24.58).

Sunday 11th April – Connemara Marathon

A fantastic result for OAC’s Liam Dunne who finished fifth (2.54.59) in this race won by Sergiu Ciobanu (2.31.00).

Liam was exactly ten minutes faster than his time last year – well done!

Sunday 11th April – Blackpool Half Marathon

From ukroadraces, the race was won by Dave Lockett (Salford) in 71.54 and for OAC, Simon Anderson finished 26th (86.03).

Saturday 10th April – Silent Valley Fell Race

Report from Andrew Robertshaw:

I did this British Fell Championship Race in Mourne Mountains (10 miles / 4,500′). Really hard.

The race was won by Andy Symonds (Kendal) in 1.43.56 and I finished 44th (2.07.21).

Sunday 4th April – Guiseley Gallop 10km approx Trail

SDC10071Despite the dry conditions on the day, recent rain made the underfoot conditions for this already demanding course even more challenging than usual.

The winner on the day was Tom Adams (Ilkley) in 36.08.

First home for OAC was Ed Davies (pictured) in ninth (40.00) followed by Steve Wallace 27th (42.37), Mick Jeffrey 45th (45.20), Neil Charlton 81st (48.15), Colin Best 148th (52.30), Howard Jeffrey 214th (56.05), second claim member Bob Payne 230th (57.08) and Liz Ashton 358th(66.06).

This was the first trail race in OAC’s Runner of the Year Championship.
