Crinan Puffer – 16th May 2010

Report from Colin Best:

First day on holiday and noticed this race just a few miles from our lodgings so couldn’t resist.

This was the inaugural race of the Crinan Puffer . It started in Ardrishaig just south of Lochgilphead in Argyll and ran the length of the Crinan canal to Crinan itself. All proceeds were in aid of the local swimming pool which is threatened with closure.

Running along the towpath all the way, meant that there was a very gently climb for the first 3mls then very gently down for the rest of the race, thorough very pleasant countryside. Unfortunately rather typical Scottish weather spoilt the very picturesque finish.
