Sunday 1st August- Round Hill Fell Race

SDC10962The eighth Otley A.C. organised Round Hill Fell Race (9 miles / 1,200′) (or should that be the Timble Tumble?) took place from Timble village (just north of Otley) and was won by Ian Fisher and the first lady was OAC’s Renee Saxton.

Thanks to everybody who took part and also the OAC members who helped organise and marshal the race.

For OAC, Andy Hunt finished fifteenth (61.00), Huw Illingworth 22nd (62.27), Peter Kettleborough 30th (65.21), Simon Anderson 34th (66.08), Lloyd Best 36th (66.53) and Simon Toyne 38th (67.23).

Renee Saxton 41st (68.33 – first lady), Chris Stacey 44th (69.21), Ben Cousen 55th (71.35), second claim member Sharron Smith 57th (71.41), Adam Baird 64th (74.06), Martin Smillie 73rd (77.26), Pange Srivastava 81st (79.01), Michael Fryer 102nd (87.06) and David Cattanach 109th (98.00).

Thank you to everyone at Otley AC who helped to recover me from Round Hill yesterday, especially Karen who sprinted up to be first on the scene, Phil for being a human crutch and lending me his sweatshirt, Jack and Kath for arranging the recovery vehicle and escorting us to it and Bob for getting his car where a car is not meant to go and returning us safe and sound to Timble village. Congratulations on being such a fab team in a crisis.
