Report from Rogan Ashton:

Liam Dunne and I were Otley’s sole representatives in this event (Run 4 mile / Bike 23 mile / Run 4 mile) near Settle but with so much else going on perhaps this was not surprising!

We battled through flooded road and rain on a very hilly course.

I was pleased to be fourth individual finisher (2:01:46) and Liam ninth (2:02:52) having taken out those who ran as relay teams.

The event was won by Richard Hamilton (Leeds Bradford Triathlon) in 1:56:46.

(Liam also finished £20? richer having successfully used his excellent running to vanquish in-law, Barry Mordue, who was also one of the fastest cyclists out there).

I can also assume I was quickest through the transitions having left my cycle shoes nicely cleaned for the race at home! Doh!
