Sunday 14th November – Barnsley 10km

OAC’s Mark Hall reports on the Barnsley 10km:

Finished eighth (and first MV50) out of nearly 700 finishers. The race was won by Andy Ward (Clowne Road Runners) in 31.34.

Tough last two miles – still on for 33 minutes at five miles but the hill at the end made it 34.21. I’m still pleased though as beat some good runners and it’s a new MV50 Club Record.

Second claim member Beth Massey finished 166th overall as sixteenth lady (and third FV40) in 43.38 (chip time) and also pleased as she is not getting any quality training at present.

Phil Robinson finished 186th overall (and first MV65) in 44.35 (chip time) and Simon Anderson 224th in 46.07 (gun time). Results from ukresults.

A Club Runner of the Year event.

Yeah, and I came in after Phil, but he did have a 9 minute head start on me!

There was no chip time; they were packing the starting mat up and opening up the road as I flew past. My time is the gun time.
