Sunday 7th November – Club Handicap at Weeton

The latest Club Handicap took place over a 5 mile road route at Weeton.

Antonio celebrated running his 100th handicap race by winning his third race of the year, holding off Sue and Julian in 2nd & third.  Karen reduced the ladies record to 33:59 in finishing 9th.  With 8 points John moved to within striking distance of Graham at the top of the table.  Defending champ. Billy moved up to third overall and I’m sure he’s keen for a big turn out at the traditional ‘Ken Dixon’ Christmas handicap on the 19th Dec.  Updated Handicap Table.
So make sure you keep the date free….

Sunday 7th November – News From Nepal

butterworthOAC’s Martin Butterworth emails in today from Nepal:

Here’s a photo (click on image for larger view) from last Friday, a public holiday here.

The views were the main attraction of this particular route and as (my wife) Katrina wanted to join us, it was better to be on good roads as her bike is not really up to the serious trail riding.

The photo was taken just north of Nagarkot and shows the upper Langtang Himalayas. She does have a helmet but it was so hot we didn’t wear them for the uphill sections!

We will be back for good in 2015 at the latest and hopefully I will still be able to run – going out this afternoon!

Saturday 6th November – Burley Moor Run

OAC’s Matt Podd reports:

Just back from this, the first running of the delayed 10km Burley Moor Run fell race.

A good course and lovely weather although wet underfoot.

Not sure who won in 49.31 and there were 147 finishers.

I was about 36th in 56ish mins, Sarah McBrinn ran well and Jackie and Andrew Ackroyd enjoyed it as well. Only four of us from Otley. If they organise this race again next year I’d recommend it to folks.

Results kindly provided by Chris Hill here although you will need to know your run number.
