OAC’s Richard Cross reports that he did cross the finish line again this year but that it wasn’t a great race for him, having had an upset stomach that laid him low after about four miles. But it was still, technically a chip time PB by a massive nine seconds, finishing 2,995th overall (114.26 chip time).
The race was won by Ben Fish (Blackburn Harriers) in 67.41.
Last year’s race report here.
Post-script from Richard:
“It turns out after the event that the Liverpool Half was unlicensed by Enland Athletics but the organisers did insist that the course had been accurately measured and although being supposedly identical to last year’s had an additional 200 odd metres put in to get it back up to full distance.
So they’ve not only robbed me of an official chip time PB but they’ve now got me doubting that I actually ran 13.1 miles last time!”
