Report from OAC’s Ben Cousen:
I took part in the ‘7oaks7’ race around Knole Park in Kent.
Seven surprisingly hilly southerly miles on the deer-crossed trails in the grounds of Knole House famed for its association with Elizabeth I, Vita Sackville-West and Virginia Woolf.
I thought it could have been an auspicious sign that I got race number 365 since Knole is a calendar house with 365 rooms. One sometimes grasps at psychological straws.
In the end my time of 44.53 was enough for sixteenth place. The race was won by James Trapmore(Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers) in 38.36 and the first lady home in fifth position overall was Abby Settle (Tonbridge A.C.) in 41.31.
