Sunday 20th November – Leeds Abbey Dash 10km


The Abbey Dash was won by Jonathan Taylor (Morpeth) in 29.20 and the first lady in 85th position overall was Susan Partridge (Leeds City) in 33.48 (all gun positions and chip times detailed).

For OAC, personal bests for both Liam Dunne 98th (34.11) and Tom Midgley 103rd (34.20).

A personal best (by over two minutes) and club record (by 79 seconds) for Racheal Bamford who finished 137th overall and fourth lady with a time of 35.20 – only ten “chip seconds” separated the second and fifth ladies over the line.

Simon Anderson finished 190th (36.21 – pb by a minute), Lloyd Best 257th (37.29), Tom Potter 417th (39.29 -pb by nearly five minutes), Tom Marsh 440th (39.51 – pb), Richard Clarke 552nd (40.42 – a pb), Karen Potter 677th (40.59 – a pb by 100 seconds), Howard Jeffrey 608th (41.19) and Nikki Scott 1,365th (46.44 – pb).

Continuing, Billy Rayner 1,384th (47.08), Sue Tupling 2,262rd (49.51), Eleanor Shotton 2,286th (50.06), Ged Peacock 2,328th (49.24), Anna Cooper 2,977th (51.28 – pb) and Alex MacDonald 4,002nd (55.36).

    The ladies club record predictably fell to the astonishing Rachael Bamford who looked like she was running conservatively.

    Looks like there will be a bounty of PBs to report. . .

    What a lot of PBs. Welldone everyone especially Eleanor who reduced her PB by over 5 minutes and then competed in the Cross Country in the afternoon

    We had some runners in the 2km junior race as well. Ben Bhogal finished 14th in 10:52 and Milly Fink 120th in 16:17 . Not sure if there were any others because club names were not given.

    Fantastic results from all the”BLACK and WHITES” WHO RAN TODAY in the ABBEY DASH, well done to all the junior”Black and Whites” as well , Great credit goes to every body who took part in the runs, keepup the good work!
