Report from OAC’s Matt Broughton:
This morning I ran in the Epilepsy Action Bradford 10k.
Once again I set off too fast and at the 5k mark was ahead of my 5k PB by over 30 seconds!
Soon after I started to run out of steam and hoped I had made up enough time in the first half of the race to allow me to scrape just under 40 minutes which I began to doubt.
It wasn’t until I approached the 9k markers that I thought I may be able to just about do it and I finally completed the race in 44th position overall (39:55).
The race was won by Quentin Lewis (Baildon) in 33.52 (all chip times) and the first lady in 39th position overall was Claire Green (Pudsey & Bramley) in 39.43.
OAC’s Caroline Marler finished 325th (and first FV60) in 49.55 and Karen Best finished 728th (62.34).
