Sunday 29th April – Shakespeare Half Marathon

OAC’s Tom Paget reports: I travelled down to Stratford-upon-Avon to run the Shakespeare Half Marathon this morning. Dreadful weather conditions but I finished 104th out of 2,492 in 91.31. The race was won by Orlando Corea (Bournville Harriers) in 76.36 and the first lady in 37th position overall was Lucy Flanner (Solihull & Small Heath) in 85.45. Full results from chipresults

Report from OAC’s Jack Robertshaw on the Fountains 10km at Grantley near Ripon: “My last two entries in the Ripon area have been blighted by bad weather. The pattern continues:- Jolly Holly 2010. The 58th Three Peaks Race (23.2 miles / 5,276′ ascent). The race was won by Joe Symonds (Hunters Bog Trotters) in 2.55.58 and the first lady in 36th position overall was Sarah O’Neil (Hunters Bog Trotters) in 3.28.39. Tuesday 24th April – Bunny Run Relay @ Haworth

From woodentops, the relay was won by the “Young Pretenders” in 29.02 consisting of Max Wharton (9.47), Brad Traviss (9.50) and James Hall (9.25). The Otley Dynamos finished seventh in 31.26 and were represented by Liam Dunne (10.32), Andrew Robertshaw (10.56) and Matt John (9.58). John Merritt also ran the final leg in 11.42 for the Team 123 which finished fourteenth overall.

Report from OAC’s Racheal Bamford: “Ran at the S.E. Poland v South Humberside/East Midlands v Guest Select Athletics meet at Hull Costello Stadium on Sunday in the 3,000m. See also noeaa-athletics.org.uk. Came first in 9.43.37, hopefully going to switch to some shorter track distances soon… also started a blog“.

The 32nd Virgin London Marathon was won by Wilson Kipsang (Kenya) in 2.04.44 and the first lady in “25th position” overall was Mary Keitang (Kenya) in 2.18.37. For OAC, Tom Midgley recorded a pb finishing 1,143rd in 2.59.41 Karen Potter whilst raising money for Help The Heroes here also recorded a pb in 3,229th position (325th lady) in 3.20.30. .
