Sunday 27th May – Driffield Mucky Duck 8.5m Multi-Terrain

Report from OAC’s Reid Haddow:

The weather was boiling on Sunday and with an 11am start, the heat was already 82 degrees and getting warmer by the minute.

A good field of nearly 190 runners for this race organised by Driffield Striders, with mostly East Yorkshire clubs been in attendance, I was the sole runner from the “Black and Whites”.

The course was mainly road but some steep undulating off road sections and with a grandstand finish in front of Driffield Rugby Club.

I finished 88th (70.26) and seventh MV60 out of 18 with no MV65 category (which I totally disagree with) and still can’t understand why they dont do this 65–69 category.

The race was won by Phill Taylor (Bridlington) in 47.12 and the first lady was Emma Brown (Bridlington) in 23rd (59.21).

Read that was a really solid run from you, to finish the race 88th out of a field of 190th runners is a significant achievement that you should be glad to have done, i did not know that you were that strong, i am impressed ,well done indeed .
