Report from OAC’s Rogan Ashton:
On Bank Holiday Monday headed off to the picturesque village of Austwick, close to Settle, for their eight mile Austwick Amble.
The “Amble” is something of a misnomer as it is a fairly taxing up and down fell race. It heads part way up Ingleborough taking in the limestone section of Sulber Nick and then racing down tracks back into the village’s centre where their street market and Cuckoo Festival is taking place.
A great afternoon out, and I was pleased to manage to make the podium in third in 54.59 behind the winner Dominic Raby (Chorley Harriers) in 52.26.
I would recommend the event as one you can happily take friends and family.
