Sunday 1st July – Burn Valley Half Marathon @ Masham

Report from OAC’s Reid Haddow:

A great bunch of “Black and White Warriors” turned up at Masham to do battle with the Burn Valley Half Marathon today.
The conditions were not ideal, strong wind and cool, some sunny  intervals.
Some great running from the “Black and Whites”:
Karen Potter 48th (and first fv40) in 99.50, Richard Smith 50th in 100.00, Tom Potter 69th in 105.57, Mark Berry 77th in 107.31, Reid Haddow 101st (and first mv65) in 113.07 and Dave Hainsworth 171st (and third mv60) in 133.42.
Great performances from all. Well done Otley A.C.

The race was won by Lee Dalton (Nidd Valley) in 78.58 and the first lady in 24th position overall was Karen Bridge (Eden Runners) in 93.32.

  1. Surely Tom Potter should be up for Runner of the month for completing the race on one leg.

  2. Not only that but his hand was attached to his foot for the duration too, one armed hopping.

Congrats to Karen, Dave and Reid on their prizes. One tough but very enjoyable race!
