After a long summer of rain, the first race of the West Yorkshire Cross-Country League at Wetherby was sunny, warm and had hardly any mud – not the traditional conditions for cross-country races in Britain but welcomed by many I’m sure. Full Results on the West Yorkshire Athletics website.
The senior men’s race was won by James Walsh (Leeds City) in 28:36, Matt John over took Ian Fisher on the last lap to finish in eleventh & fourteenth, 30:51 & 30:55, next home was the Honorary Handicapper in 29th, 32:05, followed by Tom Feather, 127th in 36:34, Leon Ricketts 131st 36:52, Richard Smith, 141st 37:41, Peter Campbell 151th 38:23, Hugh Pearson 174th 40:12, Billy Rayner 198th 45:35 & Antonio Cardinale 209th 01:06:51.
