Sunday 4th November – Derwentwater 10 Miles

OAC’s Dave Hainsworth reports:

“Took the thermals but didn’t need them – sunscreen would have been more useful.

Clear blue sky, glowing autumn colours and a dusting of snow on the tops.

The usual undulating circuit with glorious views across the lake – and a couple of post race ‘Snecks’ in the George afterwards. Nice!”

The race was won for the consecutive year by Ethiopian Yared Hagos (Wallsend) in 49.54 and the first lady in 33rd position overall was Emily Alden (Epsom & Ewell) in 63.17.

OAC’s Ian Fisher finished third (and first mv40) in 55.38 and Dave Hainsworth 327th in 91.53.

Well done to Ian for the 3 place in the Derwenwater 10 miles and to Dave as well for the short nice report and for the good run. I meant to do this race years ago because friends told me that this 10 mile was worth a trip, but for a reason or another i never came round to run Derwenwater, maybe in the future!!
