Saturday 2nd March – Trollers Trot

Report from OAC’s Matt Podd:

Well I think only three OAC superheroes tackled the Trollers Trot today but there were loads more out there supporting Liam, Charlotte and the runners – great to hear a friendly cheer at each checkpoint.

Thanks to the team at the top of Trollers Gill – always good to see them and their support.

Well those of you that didn’t enter missed a cracker today, dry underfoot and sun all the way. Beautiful views of Wharfedale and beyond as well as lots of friendly folk. Pie and peas at the end – what’s not to like about it?!

I was just going for a jog round to see if I was up to the distance but was only five minutes behind my best time for this finishing 69th overall in 4.09 – so well pleased!

Karen Best was second woman and twelfth overall in 3.26 and Lloyd stopped off for chips and took a shortcut home.

The event was won by Richard Pattinson (Pudsey & Bramley) in 2.50 and the first lady in third position overall was Jo Waites (Calder Valley) in 3.11.

  1. Well done to the OAC runners who took on the challenging 25mile course in the beautiful dales. As Matt mentioned there were three OAC members on the start line but several more were sweating it out at the checkpoints and the finish, so a massive thank you to all. Karen Best had a strong and very impressive run to finish 2nd lady and 12th overall in a time of 3hrs 26mins, Master Podd 69th in 4hrs 9mins whilst LLoyd didn’t feel too good on the day and took a shorter route home. Results now up on

  2. Good effort Matt, sure you didn’t take any short cuts? he he & great run from Karen, Lloyd, sure you’ll get a generous handicap at Esholt as compensation, a little bit shorter too
