Sunday 17th March – Trimpell 20 Miles

Report from OAC’s Ian Broadbent:

“Did the Trimpell 20 miler in Lancaster today.

It’s a traffic free route that starts with a loop of local cycle/walking trails and then heads out up the Lune Valley to Crook o’Lune and back again.

Very well organised and marshalled with a large majority of participants being club runners.

I also spotted Lisa Maughan from a distance!”

From the results at ukroadraces, the race was won by Tom Charles (Trafford AC) in 1.52.53 and the first lady was Jessica Wilson-Young (Edinburgh) in 2.17.50.

For OAC, Ian Broadbent finished 215th (2.51.22) and Lisa Maughan 313th (3.13.30). There were 386 finishers.

  1. Thought I was the only the “black and white” there today Ian. Well done on your time and position! Just thought I would point out that the sunglasses were due to me having an eye ulcer, which is still quite sensitive to light – not that I am some kind of running diva that likes wearing sunglasses in the rain 🙂
