Thursday 23rd May – Apperley Bridge Canter

Report from OAC’s Matt Podd:

Cold night for this 10km trail race organised by Horsforth Harriers and road shoes were not a good choice on the muddy bit by the river. Low stress and not too hilly.

The race was won by Phillip Tedd (Woodhouse Grove / Sale Harriers) in 33.06 and the first lady in 25th position overall was Aiveen Fox (Horsforth Harriers) in 38.22.

For OAC, Lloyd Best finished 62nd (41.17), Karen Best (72nd) 42.02, “Birthday Boy” Matt Podd 128th (45.13), Billy Rayner 197th (49.31), Pange Srivastava 212th (50.28) and Lisa Maughan 268th (53.22).

There were 398 finishers with results from ukresults.

Unfortunately my pacer – Mr M. Jefferies was hamstrung in the first km and had to drop out. I’ll beat him yet!

Reports in the Telegraph & Argus here and the Wharfedale Observer here and here.

  1. Happy birthday Matt , your run was not bad one at all , although you wore the road shoes in muddy path by the river. Mr President , i wish you a speedy recovery , get well soon . Well done as well to all the others members who run at the Apperley Bridge trail .
