Thursday 4th July – Cuerden Valley Badger 10k Trail Race Race #2

Report from OAC’s Ian Broadbent:

I travelled to the other side of “the hills” and to Bamber Bridge, near Preston to take part in the Cuerden Valley Badger 10k – it’s one I try and do with mates each year.

It’s a very undulating 10k, all off-road with a mix of fields, paths and metalled tracks.

Happy with my time of 48.25 bearing in mind the course, a minute quicker than last year and 71st out of 183 with results from here. The race was won by Gary Shaw (Burnley A.C.) in 34.47 and the first lady in nineteenth position was Joanna Goorney (Wesham) in 42.21.

The last one of the Series is on Thursday 1st August, £6 a throw for club runners, see ukresults.

Not local for anyone from Otley but if you are out and about its basically where the M6/61/65 meet.

Well done Ian and you’re talking motorways not male veteran categories, I assume?
