Tuesday 16th July – The Liz Fawcett Leathley Handicap

With several handicap first timers taking on the hot and hilly 10km Stainburn course,  new member Sarah held off Andy Webster to take first place. Debra and Antonio both ran well in the battle for third.  Setting off on scratch Scott recorded the fastest time of the night in 5th.

The battle for the 2013 Eric Smith title is slowing building now with 5 events left.  Dominic now tops the table on 129 points ahead of Ursula 128 and the ever improving Phil Robinson on 118.5.

There was a notable feat a little further down the field, as Graham flying over from his home in the Pyrennes, completed a century of handicap races, spread over 22 years.

8 minutes handicap, didn’t realise that’s what you’d given me. How the hell did that happen. Will be having a hard word with you Andrew 😉 I actually really enjoyed it and was pleased to see that all the newbies did so well. Well done guys, it was a tough one.
