Saturday 19th October – Weeton Handicap

Returning to the course of his previous handicap win in 2010, handicap stalwart Antonio pulled away from Kath on the final drag from the village to take a clear win.

A fast finishing Ursula strengthened her position at the top of the handicap table in third place, now 21 points clear of Dominic.   The fastest time of the day went to Steve Robinson running in his first club handicap.

Thanks to Tom & Dave Hainsworth for helping out on course marking & marshalling.

Well done Antonio, & your fastest time for Weeton since 2007 & I can’t have the mother winning too often, I’d be accused of something I’m sure!

Antonio – a great run! Nice to see you doing well as you are always there to support these handicaps, which are a lot of work to organise.

Thank you everybody, I was glad to have Kath in front of me doing all work of leading the race , just in the final bit, i had some energy left to sprint to the finishing line. Ursula had a super day in Weeton with a 37.49 that is just brilliant .On the morning all club’s members run really well with determination to pass me. Well done to all.

Congratulations Antonio. I decided to gift the glory to those above me in the table. For a while it looked scarily like I would have to arrange my life around handicap dates – but Ursula’s true form has shone through. I was also a bit busy on the day – fancying a longer run.
    Cheers Matt
