Skyrac AC hosted the final race of this year’s West Yorkshire cross country League.  The races took place in pretty much perfect running conditions and unusually for Nunroyd park, fairly firm underfoot conditions.

In the senior ladies, Katie Walshaw, Holmfirth won in a time of 19:09, second claim member Racheal Bamford was fifth in 20:26.

The senior men’s race was won by David McNamee, Skyrac AC in a time of 29:07.  For Otley AC Liam Dunne was first home in 28th 32:08, followed in 68th by Graham Lake 34:25, Leon Ricketts 124th, 37:14 and 171st Antonio Cardinale 1:00:13; and second claim Zack Whitehead 50th 33:37.

And here are some photos.

  1. Well done everyone. Not many takers for Cross Country this year. Any one fancy having a go next year? Could offer training.

  2. Good to see a few OAC vests on display in the mens race but not an OAC female vest to be seen anywhere. As Matt pointed out above it’s a real shame that we didn’t get a better turnout, I know a lot of other events clashed with the WYXC this year and I suppose members don’t want to pay £12 when they can probably only make it one race out of four. Only a thought, but maybe the club could make up the difference if each member pays £3 per race they run? This may entice more members to get involved.

  3. Just a fantastic run Liam , I would say a impressive performance from you in a very competitive field well done indeed . Graham did well on the day, also Leon and Zack were strong runners in this cross country . It is not about money Liam, also the boys for some reason this year have deserted the cross country season, maybe next year we will be back to normal.

  4. Well done all you great “Black and Whites” you all were fantastic, well done to you all, will be there next year i hope!
