Sunday 2nd February – Dewsbury 10k


A good turnout from the Black & Whites at this local fast 10k.  A close finish up front as the Northern Cross Country champion Dan Garbutt was just beaten by Mohammed Abu-Rezeq of Altrincham in a time of 30:24.  1st Lady in 29th overall was Wakefield’s Julie Briscoe in 34:17.

Scott was up near the front of the field finishing 12th in a PB? of 32:37,  Second claimer Zack Whitehead was next Otley’s next runner in 39th 35;02, followed by: 64th Tom Midgley 36:03,  71st Jon Greenwell 36:20,  187th Tom Potter 40:08,  396th Howard Jeffrey 44:42,  375th Andy Webster 45:01,  376th Andy Ackroyd 45:03,  508th John Cowan (PB) 47:06,  475th Jackie Ackroyd 47:07,  517th Dominic Egan 47:52,  620th Phil Robinson 50:00,  652nd Billy Rayner 50:33,  676th David Hainsworth 51:19,  743rd Gemma Harrington (PB) 52:58,  772nd Ann Yeadon 53:44,  779th Laura Hind (PB) 54:09,  913th Toni Midgley (PB) 58:18.

    Well done everyone. Perfect conditions for racing and pb’s eh Scott? Phenomenal. I spoke to Phil before the race and he was aiming for 50.00 minutes! Next week’s lottery numbers please Phil. I wanted sub 45.00 today so well pleased.

    well done everyone fantastic results! very pleased with my PB and proud of everyone elses results and achievements especially my hubby and Toni! Ann Yeadon also ran for the Black & Whites and her time was 53:44 position 775 and another PB! whoop whoop!

    I’m not going to manage a pb anytime soon (but well done to those who did) although it was my fastest 10K since 2005 ! Did no-one else find the breeze in their face both going out and coming back or was it just me getting tired.

    Well done to all the club’s members who took part to the Dewsbury 10k, good racing indeed, especially from Phil R. and David H. that is strong running, also Gemma had strong running on the day, and Toni as well was good.
