Saturday 8th March – Esholt Handicap

Race 3 of the 2014 Eric Smith Handicap took place at Esholt, a five mile route, a mixture or track, canal towpath and road.  Kath held on to take the win ahead of Andy Webster and Nicola.  Ian recorded the fastest time of the day, on a 24 minute handicap, moving through the field for sixth.  The top three in the overall table is still the three ladies, with Kath now on top of 59 points, 5 ahead of Gemma and Charlotte on 49 points.   See the full handicap table here and some photos here.

Lots of points on offer at next months race at the popular Fewston handicap, so lots of opportunity for others to force their way up the table in April.

  1. Oh dear Richard I’m afraid the photos are there now for all to see, well done everyone.

  2. Oh dear oh dear. I’m with Richard. I suggest that the photographs are removed from the website. (If I had seen the photographs before I set off home I would not have stopped off at the chip shop) Nick

  3. Congratulation to Kath for the victory at Esholt , ran really well. Ursula ran strongly with 40.30 that is good.Nicola and Charlotte had some impressive performances. Also Gemma was solid on the day and Ian Fisher is just awesome. Well done to everybody , also to the President of Otley AC. Matt P. who came to cheers us on.

  4. Caron: My excuse it that I was really warm; thought I’d picked my “number one for ventilation T-shirt” but apparently not. Probably did make me run faster though as it was far more comfortable.
And no more talk of Calender Girls!
Well done everyone, it’s can be a tough one along the canal and the village gets longer every year!
