Otley AC club treasurer, Ian Broadbent Reports:
I made my annual pilgrimage to Calder Vale near Garstang to run the 10 mile road race which is set over an extremely undulating but scenic road course. It’s not PB territory but I managed a respectable 79:10 and 61st of 159 finishers in very warm conditions. Pleased to report the pie and peas were as good as ever too. It’s run every Good Friday and well worth the trip, generally a small field although competitors seem to travel a fair way to take part!
The race winner, and the only person to run sub 60 mins on the day, in 59:56 was Paul Brannigan (Todmorden Harriers). The first female home in 4th position was Angela Leck (Wellington Scottish) in 62:35.
