Wednesday 3rd September – Ilkley Incline

Hon. Handicapper reports:

Having raced little during the summer I was happy with a time a few seconds faster than last year and had a good view of a close race up front where Jack Wood from the host club just held off Emma Clayton for the win.

Full results on Ilkley’s www here.  Otley results:  1st Jack Wood, Ilkley H 7.47,  2nd Emma Clayton, Bingley H. 7:49 & new women’s record,  I was 5th  8:19, 6th Edward Davies 8:26,  20th Rogan Ashton 9:14,  followed by 25th Steve Robinson 9:32 & 68th Antonio Cardinale 15:07.

Cracking run Andrew! And after a reasonably quick training run on Tuesday too.

  2. #2 by Antonio Cardinale on September 4, 2014 - 9:24 pm

I agree with Graham , a cracking run indeed Andrew, 8:19 is really a strong performance . Also Steve R. with 9:32 had a solid ran on this harsh incline. Rogan A. and Edward D . had a good ran too in this mile in Ilkley.

Fantastic running by all especially Antonio who had a great run to knock off over 3mins!!! from last year, well done. I wish i had given this race a go now.

Thanks for the comments guys, a hard race, especially if you get the pace slightly wrong at the start. Watch this space but it looks like Ed’s result will be corrected to 6th, 8.26, well done everyone…
Worth noting that Emma Clayton & Georgia Malir will be representing Britain next weekend here: http://www.wmrc2014.com/en/ & next year’s world mountain running championships are at Llanberis: http://www.britishathletics.org.uk/media/news/2014-news-page/august-2014/02-09-14-conwy/

You are too kind Sean, if you came to this race we could have done it together at the back , because it more nice to have some company. Sometimes there is no need to go too far away for racing, there are several good races around our district all year around. I hope you have recovered from your last injury and you are back running as usual.

Cracking time Andrew. I guess you’re not the OWH for no reason. Well done to Antonio also on a 3 mind improvement too. Good times all around, well done all.
