Runner of the Month for September 2014

Goes jointly to Tom Midgley and Lucy Mowat from the Absolute Beginners group.

Tom has been busy. Fifth in the Filey 10k Beach Race, eighth in the club 3,000m handicap, second in the club’s Dream Mile in 5:09 and he finished the Bupa Great North Run in 1:17:00. And on top of that he even drove past the Yorkshire Vets Cross Country race at Nunroyd Park.

Lucy is a regular at the Harrogate parkrun, shaving a bit of time of her PB each week.

There was also a mention for Frank Beresford who continues to continues to impress week in, week out.

Two very worthy winners of Runner of the month!
Lucy Mowat has been consistently improving each week at the Harrogate ParkRun and is aiming to do well this year at the Leeds Abbey Dash (I’m sure of sub 60mis).
Lucy regularly attends Tuesday training with the beginners group and has started to join the main club training sessions on a Thursday.
    Well done to you both.

Well done Midge, Well deserved mate. Always good to see someone who trains as hard as you do reap the rewards and to hit a rich vain of form like you have in recent times.

    Long may it continue.

Congrats Midge. Good to see that all the hard work and training has paid off in recent races! Nobody more deserving of this.

    Well done to both !

I agree with Sean ,indeed ‘worthy winners’ and as well with Tom P. for the ‘training hard’ and consistency in racing. Well done to Tom M. and Lucy M. that is no more a beginner , but a runner indeed.

Anyone who can run with sand in their shoes deserves all the plaudits.

    Well done Tom!

    And congrats to Lucy too.

Good on ya Tom, you never gave up when we dropped you in training and now you’ve reversed the order. Glad to see Frank also get a mention as equally deserved. Everyone who runs well over the month deserves RoM but I think sometimes people forget how hard both regularly train just to shave seconds off.

Tom, well done you really deserve ROM, as Liam said when we were giving you a hard time in training you took it and now you are repaying us with interest! Think you can beat all of your PBs in the near future.
