Saturday 15th November – Full Tour of Pendle

Report from President Podd: John Armitstead gave me a lift to Barley on Saturday, where we met Matt John. All there to run the Full Tour of Pendle, 17 miles and 5000ft of climbing – more than the three peaks! Very muddy and foggy made this hard race even more challenging, but we all got home, Matt, John and me, Matt Podd. A lovely suffer fest and only 7quid and you get a class T shirt. Results to follow. Jealous doesn’t even begin to cover it!

You would have loved it! The pain was sublime and the lack of visibility added to the uncertainty. Runners all over the top of Pendle hoping the person they were following new the way. With his experience John sensibly followed a runner from the host club and I found someone who had a strange watch that told us the true path. Still nobody died and we all got home. When you get to the bottom of the last climb and look up – it make grown men (and women) cry.
Hope your back running soon Simon; there are few more masochistic ways to spend a saturday (and they are amoral or illeagal.

Very brave!! I thought about Pendle but then realised I wasn’t hard enough and went for the road run instead!

Been chatting to 2 friends at work who ran it and they both said it was brilliant. Hard, but one of the best (if not best) fell races they’d done. One for next year Tamara? :o)

Results are up via the link. Well done to John and Matt – good times in the conditions. Not my fastest time by a bit – must try harder!
