Saturday 16th May – Ripon 10 Mile MT

Report from Andy Webster: First time I have entered the Ripon 10 (plus a little bit more).

For those of you that have not raced it, it is a similar climb to Otley 10 with some trails to run on. The weather was cool, and slightly windy. I set off with Chris Hosker, but after three miles he pulled off from me.

Despite currently racing more than training, legs felt better than the Leeds Half last week, where I got some post marathon and Tour De Yorkshire fatigue kick in. The three hills were ascended without too much difficulty. In the last two miles picked up a good pace and held a couple of runners off. Nice flapjack and a mug at the finish line. Full results

1: Mike Jefferies 0:58:48.2
4: Mark Hall 1:03:51.6
11: Sharon Barlow 1:06:30.3
77: Christian Hosker  1:16:34:6
90: Andy Webster 1:18:17.5
220: David Fox 1:30:47.5
233: Tom Hannah 1:32:49.9

Report from Mark Hall: I did the Ripon 10m multi terrain event today. I finished 4th and 1st V55 in a time of 63.52. Winner was Mike Jefferies, BillinghamMarsh ac  in 58.48. I was 1 min 43 secs slower than last year which is very disappointing but injury has not helped.

Don’t beat yourself up Mark, you and the rest did really well. Returning from injury and getting Age prize – well done.

I agree with the club’ President on this one , 1:03 is a superb result Mark and to finish 4th is just great although it is a bit slower then last year but sadly you are one year older too. Also David F . with 1:30 ran strongly at this 10miler ,Tom H. as well with 1:32 had a good day in Ripon. Well done everyone.
