Sunday 28th June – Wakefield Half Marathon

Sunday 28th June – Wakefield Half Marathon

Report from Howard Jeffrey: Some time ago I noted that this weekend gone there was scheduled the Wakefield half marathon which was mainly off road on trails in a country park. I saw no further reference to it at all (members of the local Wakefield Triathlon club had also never heard of it!) but on Friday, the last day for entries, I thought I might like to do it. There were two online entry methods. The first I tried wanted…

Sunday 28th June – Humber Bridge Half Marathon

Sunday 28th June – Humber Bridge Half Marathon

Report from Joanna Hobson Today I completed the Humber Bridge Half Marathon. At the beginning of this year I decided that 2015 was my year to tackle a half marathon. Due to various other commitments I was unable to join my Otley club mates in the runs they were doing so I chose the Humber Bridge Half as the start line is minutes from my mother in laws house and so made for an easy wake up call this morning!…

Saturday June 27th – Wharfedale 3 Peaks Challenge

Saturday June 27th – Wharfedale 3 Peaks Challenge

Report from Shane Ewen: I ran this to raise money and awareness for the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association who do great work in and around my running area. The route was 22 miles long starting in Kettlewell, winding up and over Birks fell, down into Yockenthwaite, then up Buckden Pike & Great Whernside, before the run back in. Conditions were very warm, with a much welcomed breeze on the tops, far from ideal for the 4000 ft of elevation….

Saturday 27th June – Eldwick Fell Race

Saturday 27th June – Eldwick Fell Race

Report from Liam Dunne: On Sat afternoon I headed  over to local Eldwick near Bingley (3 Miles/550 ft) for my third fell race in as many weeks, for the bargain £2.50 entry fee gala fell race. It was a 3 o’clock start and with the sun out it looked like it was going to be a warm and fairly sweaty affair. Before the start of the race I bumped into a few OAC runners which included  Ed Davies, Jeremy Stewart and Antonio….
