Sunday 21st June – British Masters 5K

Report from Mark Hall:

I drove over to Horwich, Lancashire, to compete in the British Masters (veterans) 5 kms Championships.

The race is held on a closed circuit of 3 laps. The lap has a 300m climb on each of the 3 laps. On the day, there was a big head wind blowing down the climb, which was reflected in slower recorded times than  last year.

I was 3rd V55 in 17.31, 25 seconds from the win! not a fast time but I am pleased given injuries and lack of speed work, (excuses really)

The V55 winner was Andy Weatherill, Mansfield in 17.08.  Full results here.

Compliments to Mark H. for his 3rd place at the British with a bronze medal, 17:31 is a splendid result , considering that he is not in a shape that he would like to be in this moment ,that makes his performance a super one. Well done Mark.
