Friday 28th August – Eyemouth 5k Twilight Run

Report from Colin Best: Up here in Northumberland thought I would join my Tweed Striders colleagues and risk a visit north of the border. I’m not a great fan of 5km, (take to long to get going these days) but thought I would give a go. A very pleasant sunny evening greeted the start on the sea front before running alongside the harbour. Uphill from here for the next 2km, Otley training coming in useful as managed to pass quite a few runners and suprisingly passed by few down to the finish. 1st Nathan Cox 17.26 1st Female Jill Mykura 20.08 38th Colin Best 24.49. 136 finishers, full results on their Facebook pageĀ

24:49 is good indeed ,especially if you consider that the first 2k are uphill , if you pass runner uphill and then before the finish it means that you are in good form maybe you are ready for the Golden mile and the 3000 meters on the track in few weeks time and why not the cross country season usually starting in October . Well done Colin.
