Sunday 6th September: Hatters half marathon

Report from Ian Broadbent:

I ran the Hatters Half Marathon today that started and finished at Stockport County FC. Initially a bit disappointed with 1:47:50 128/335 but didn’t particularly train for a half and it was on trails, muddy in places and often single file. However it was a pleasant run on the trans pennine trail mainly along the Mersey, I’d definitely say not a PB course.

Well marshalled and good facilities at the start and finish, a little disappointed given it was sponsored by Robinsons Ales that there was no bottle of beer at the end but otherwise a good event.

  1. 1:47 is a good result for a half marathon Ian , especially if you consider as well that was muddy on the footpath and a single file means that easily you lose your right stride . Well done .
