Saturday 14th November – Autumn Shakespeare Half Marathon

Report from Tom Lynch:

While visiting family I took the chance to get in a half marathon before the end of the year. It was another opportunity to get a PB since I haven’t raced this distance for several years prior to joining the club. The course is a multiple 5k lap course around the former runways of Long Marston airfield near Stratford-Upon-Avon which is now used as a drag racing track. The race combined a 5k, 10k, half marathon and full marathon race. Conditions were fairly good, although with a persistent breeze straight down the long straight to finish which was a bit draining.

The winner of the half was Jonathon Tipper in 1:13:11, first woman was Rachel Wood in 1:26:57 and I came in 25th in a time of 1:31:13 (1:31:02 chip).
