Saturday 5th March – Wellington Handicap

The last time we did this handicap in October 2007,  but after Jack’s suggestion we thought it was time to resurrect it, thankfully the post race comments were pretty much all positive for the hilly 3 lap route.  With a start & finish right next to the pub how could you go wrong!

After a day of snow, sleet & rain yesterday, the weather proved to be pretty good, if like last week a bit on the chilly side.  Charlotte just held off Kirsty Pomfrett for first, both well clear of Stephen in third, Liam Dunne recorded the fastest time of the day & won the prize for most consistent lap times.

Tom Pomfrett retains his position at the top of the handicap table on 49 points ahead of John Armitstead 43, Nicola Lee and Phil Robinson both on 38. See the full table here.

Lots of points on offer for the next one at the popular Fewston Thurs. 21 April.

Really enjoyed this one, thanks to all the Robertshaws for organising/timing! Looking forward to Fewston 🙂

Congratulations to Charlotte D. for winning the Wellington race with 43:36 doing 3 laps almost with the same time , that is a great way to spread your energy during the race . Nicola L. with 37 :55 had a strong ran and she is getting faster and confident by the day . Also Kirsty P. with 38:40 had a good ran on this 3 laps circuit , not easy not to spend most of your strength on the 1 lap . Liam D. with 30:58 was really fast with a good performance and Andrew R. with 32:12 ran with consistency and he is coming back to a good shape. Well done to everyone .
