Sunday April 3rd – Baildon Boundary Way – 13.4 miles

Report from millenarian Phil Robinson: I last did this one in 1996, so it was about time for a re-visit. The start is well down the hill below the rugby club, so it’s a net uphill course. The first climb through the Esholt woods was very familiar from last week’s Guiseley Gallop. Then a long fairly flat section, joining the canal at Apperley Bridge. Owing to footpath restoration along the south side of the canal we had an extra hill at 6 miles followed by a rough section through the woods, very muddy and a nasty surprise for some runners wearing road shoes. The 10-mile marker announces the start of the tough climb up Shipley Glen, which this year continued higher than I remembered, continuing with a short but steeper climb after crossing Glen Road. Billy and I finished within a minute of each other, but I never saw Rogan or David Cattanach

Tom Adams of Ilkley won with over 15 minutes to spare; Otley results:

56th Rogan Ashton 1-49-04

256th Phil Robinson 2-22-49

262nd Andrew Rayner 2-23-24

318th David Cattanach 2-43-32

  1. Well done all, especially Rogan and Phil – where you first mature gent?
I like the BBW did it last year.

  2. I like your short report Phil , and after 20 years that you ran this one , your 2:22 is a super result , Boundary Way is lovely to run the last one that I did was in 2005 and I just enjoyed the course , but nowadays I can not manage to do more then 10 miles . Well done to everybody .
