Sunday 15th May – Ripon 10 mile (multi terrain)

Report from Mark Hall: This is the 3rd time I have competed in this event, it takes in some beautiful countryside, not that you see much of it when racing as it is usually through crunched up eyes so the views do appear distorted! It is nice to race and not be chasing times, which is not always enjoyable. I have raced sparingly this year as the old legs are complaining more than they used to! The Ripon 10m is certainly not flat but worth a visit. Weather conditions were near perfect and dry on the off road sections. I did not see any OAC runners after the event so not sure if they were pleased with their performances.

Results as follows.

1st. Andy Chadfield 59:14 Billingham Marsh Hse H & AC, 1st Lady  Sharon Barlow 1:07:50 Ripon Runners

5th Mark Hall 62.31 (1st V55)

13th Rogan Ashton 66.55

55th Steven Robinson 74.34

95th Andy Webster 81.47

134th Phil Robinson (1st V70) 88.19

  1. Mark what a fantastic race in 62:31 and what a result in 5th place in front of the 6 time winner and record holder of the course Gary D. just a super performance . Also Phil R . what a runner his 88:19 is superb …I wish . Well done all .

  2. Thanks Antonio, I think all of the OAC men had good runs, where were the girls? I think the entry fee is expensive given the poor prize list but still worth running if only for the lovely venue.
