Saturday May 20th – Sowerby Scorcher

Report from Mark Hall:

Sowerby Scorcher 6.3 miles (over 10k) 20/05/17

Ran the SS as above. This is a multi terrain event. There were 2 marshals missing during the event so lost a minimum of a minute waiting for the next runner! I was 2nd and won a bottle of red wine the winner received a sparkling bottle of wine, it really is getting worse! Winner: Gavin Mullholland, Staniland Lions 39.23. My time 40.57

Good effort Mark, welcome to the low key delights of most off road races 🙂

Marshals had been allocated but did not turn up. I don’t expect much Andrew but it was still £12.50 to enter! On the subject of prizes I see that no prizes were given to vets over 40 at the John Carr series (sorry if I am wrong?) due to numbers competing in each category despite the large entry fee.

Tonight I was talking to a friend before the start of the Harrogate Races and he told me that he has just entered the Liverpool Marathon and paid 50 pounds .. way too much . Congratulations just the same as it was a victory because as well your time of 40.57 is fabulous. Well done to Mark H.
