Wednesday 5th July – Stirton Fell Race

Report from Matt Podd:

Mr T drove us to this very low key event near Skipton – 5.6 miles and 1200 ft of ascent. Registered at the van and all stood in the road. Off we went up tarmac and onto Flasby Fell to touch the trig of Sharp Haw. A nice descent off the other side and then back up through the wood to revisit the trig. Fast grassy run in to the finish at the start of the tarmac.

£3 to enter and we all got a bottle of beer at the end. Good night out, results to follow on K&C or FRA.

I had planned to do this local fell race , just I could not make it on the night , from your report from Stirton it was the kind of fell race that I like most ” fast grassy run in to the finish ” , only 3 pounds with a bottle of beer as well . Well done to Matt P.
