Sunday 3rd September – Wilne 10k (near Nottingham)

Report from Mark Hall:

I have been hearing about this event since my Tipton Harrier days and finally made the effort to do it. The race is not as flat as reported but still a PB race. It was a very early rise (5.30am) for a 10am race start as the event is east of Nottingham, a 90 mile drive. There was a big field of 900 runners, the race is two laps of a mainly flat circuit. I was pleased with my run recording a time of 35.34 to finish 37th overall and first V55. Downside to this event and the only negative was the poor prize structure.

Winner: S Spenser, Notts ac, 30.59

First woman: A Crook, Stockport ac, 35.01

Your trip to Wilne was well worth it , your time of 35.34 is fabulous and you left at your back at the finish line 863 runners . Well done to Mark H.
