Sunday 29th October – West Yorkshire Cross Country League, Nunroyd Park, Guiseley

Round two of the West Yorkshire Cross Country League saw the usual suspects turn out for OAC at Nunroyd Park, Guiseley.

A crisp sunny day greeted the runners, as did claggy ground and a slightly amended course than in previous years thanks to the section near rear of the park being removed.

In the ladies’ race, Victoria Stainburn was 24th in 23:36 and Laura McCabe was 40th in 24:32. The winner was Georgia Malir (Leeds City) in 20:25.

In the men’s race, Colin Best was first home for OAC in 198th place in 42:14 – the retired-dentist was also the first to finish for Otley in the Palma 10k two weeks earlier.

John Davis was 204th in 44:25, Billy Rayner 205th in 44:36 and the current leader of the fell championship, Antonio Cardinale, 209th in 56:17. The winner was Angus McMillan (City of York) in 27:01.
