Report from Billy
Following injury, no training and having missed Brass Monkey & Dewsbury 10k I decided to run the Liversedge Half which I had also pre-entered. Usually race day at Liversedge consists of wind, rain, sleet or snow (usually all four!) but conditions were perfect which is more than could be said of my fitness. Knowing it was going to be slow I set off steady and at the back and steadily got slower especially in the later stages when my calves were cramping up. There were no other Black & Whites there although Howard was registered. I completed the race in 412th place in 2:14:12 which is probably a personal worse! In view of the lack of training I was not too disheartened and felt upbeat that I completed the race without walking. An important step towards getting ready for London.
The race was won by Joe Sagar of Spenborough AC in 1:14:22 and first lady was Myra Jones of Valley Striders in 1:31:46 and there were 482 finishers.
