Runners of the Month – May

The Runners of the Month for May were: Bob Payne for recent dedication in handicaps and a strong performance in the Danefield handicap, and Laurel Frear for a great run at the Leeds Half Marathon. Don’t forget to collect your bottle of wine from club!

Special mentions also go to Gary Johnson for a determined effort at the Old County Tops fell race, and Sharon Kenyon for a brilliant time at Edinburgh Marathon.

You might have beaten Bob with a buggy Gary, but he beat you to runner of the month!

  1. Award well deserved for Bob P. because he is a great competitor , in every race Bob gives 100 percent , also in training he never holds back any energy left , and I like as well his icy water station that Bob does every year with Emma near the shooting house at the Round Hill Fell Race . Also Laurel F. is running well and indeed deserved the Award .

  2. Thank you! Surprised and pleased to get this.. One of the best things I did was to join OAC. Not only have I managed to get my goal of running a 5k non stop with your total encouragement but you have helped me realise I can ‘up my game’ and do so much more. The club as a whole has helped me improve my running and encouraged me to enter my first 10 miler and then the half marathon.. Hopefully I will continue to get further and faster and bag my first marathon in October! Go Black and Whites! Proud to be part of the team x Thank you..
