Sunday 9th September – Bradley Fell Race

Report from Colin Best

3.5 miles 900′ of climb

I last did this BOFRA fell race a couple of years ago. This year I was accompanied by Don Buffham and the ever present Antonio. Antonio needs to check the weather forecast as this was a rare shorts outing on a cool wet and windy afternoon, it was a gloves day for me.
This short fell race is associated with a local show and is basically a steady climb across fields and tracks to the turning point on Bradley fell before turning back on the same route. There was only one small steep section so I managed to run most of the way to the top with the help of a strong tail wind followed by a great sprint back down.
I was pleased with my run managing to be almost a minute faster than 2 years ago.

There didn’t seem to be any junior representation this year.

  1. Compliments to Colin B. for his PB by two minutes at the Bradley Fell Race , I just do not know how Colin is able to go so fast at 60 …is it 60 the new middle age for Colin ? Colin 37.17 is a super time . Also our friend Don B. had a great afternoon in Bradley , his 43.28 is great running .
