Report from Phil Robinson:
A few of us exchanged last weekend’s Yorkshire wind and rain for a sunny few days in Majorca. About 8000 runners took part in the three races – marathon, half, and 10k – centred around the seafront and old town of Palma. Pleasantly warm at the start, the temperature climbed steadily. The 10k was entirely along the seashore in the sun but the narrow streets of the old town offered some shade in the later part of the half.
In the 10k Carol produced a fine run of 53.52 to finish second (of 81!) in her age band (10k winner – Antoni Gran Sanchez 33.40; 3008 finished).
In the half John started from a faster pen than the rest of us, so we didn’t see him again. Malcolm and I ran together for a few miles, then he disappeared in a scrum for water and I lost him. Tom ran steadily all the way whilst Richard struggled with an ITB injury and pulled out after about 5 miles.
Before and after pics from Malcolm.
