Saturday 27th October – Colin’s Calverley Handicap – Race 10 Eric Smith Trophy

Antonio ‘destroyed the field‘, (in his own words), 🙂  on a bitterly cold morning.  It would have been a little closer if Malcolm’s internal compass hadn’t gone awry dropping down to the canal at Apperley Bridge.  Nick had a fine run finishing 3rd just ahead of the fast finishing Rogan and Liam, who recorded the fastest time of the day.

Bob retains  his big lead in the handicap table ahead of David Cattanach.  The battle for the podium is very close with 7 points covering David, Andy Webster, Tom Hannah, Phil Robinson and Stephen Small.  See the full handicap table here.

Thanks to Colin for flouring the route and Caron helping out on the timer.

November’s race is the relatively flat 5 miler at Weeton on Saturday 24th.

  1. Well done to the Italian Stallion! All those back to back fell races are paying off.
The handicapper’s mean, medion and mode all look awesomely average too!

  2. Easy Howard , never mind stallion , I can hardly shuffle nowadays , thank you for the good comments . Usually at the last mile along the canal everyone passes me before the finish line , when I finished I turned my head to see how close to me was everybody and to my astonishment nobody was there to be seen . It is good to see Simon A. back running with us after a few years off for injury and as well he had a great come back finishing in a strong 34.25 . Also Ursula did well in this race 10 of the Eric S. series finishing in 45.33 it is not a bad time to do at all . Bob P. had bad luck falling down at the pebble section , he went to finish in 49.25. Liam D. is gradually coming back to form , his 30.09 is fast running . Phil R. did a great race finishing in a super time of 42.18 . Well done to everyone .
